Jax Pop Con Vol. 3 | What’s happening in Jacksonville

Jax Pop Con Vol. 3

*The event has already taken place on this date: Sat, 04/04/2026
Dust off those capes, grab your favorite set of dice, and assemble from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, at the Main Library. It's a celebration of all the books, comics, games, TV shows, and movies you love—all in the heart of Downtown Jacksonville! Make memories, make friends, and show off your best cosplay or fandom-inspired art. This is a free event, open to the public.

Please help us keep this calendar up to date! If this activity is sold out, canceled, or otherwise needs alteration, email mindy@kidsoutandabout.com so we can update it immediately. If you have a question about the activity itself, please contact the organization administrator listed below.

Get Your Cosplay On

Dress up as your favorite hero, space wizard, movie monster or original D&D character. You might just win a prize or make a friend! Folio Weekly's "Best of Jax 2023" cosplayer Countess Alyx will return as emcee and guest judge, along with a few of their cosplay friends.

Cosplay Contests (ages 6+)

Want to win cool prizes (and bragging rights)? Enter one of two competitions:

  • Runway Category at 3 p.m. - if your costume was purchased from a store
  • Crafted Category at 3:30 p.m. - if you made your costume and props by hand

Note: Spots are limited and are first-come, first-served. Please check in with staff or volunteers between 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to receive your contestant number.

Cosplay Photo Booths

For those interested, local photographer Jeremy Bacon of Port of Call Photography will set up a photo booth, selling professional photos to cosplayers and congoers (for a small fee). Free DIY Photo Booths (and props) will also be set up in the Promenade, Children's Room and Conference Level.

For Our Super Young Fans

Families with young kids are invited to join us on the second floor, in and around the Children's Department. Enjoy free face painting and balloons with Art-Z Faces and play with bubbles, chalk and a giant Candy Land game in the Courtyard.

Looking for ways to build your home library? Our partners at First Coast YMCA will provide information on New Worlds Reading and its free book delivery program for families with kids in VPK through 5th grade. Their table will also include goody bags and raffle prizes.
